Why a pen name

The book is published under a pen name, which is common for a first title and changes nothing about who is legally behind it. Everything you buy here, you buy from the person named above, and every guarantee on this site is given by that person.

What this means if you are buying from the United States

You are buying a digital file from a small business in Germany. Three things follow from that, and none of them cost you anything:

• No customs, no import charges. A download does not cross a border the way a parcel does. Any tax required by law is shown at checkout before you pay.
• You are charged in US dollars. Your bank may still treat the payment as a foreign transaction and add its own fee. That fee is your bank's, and we do not control it.
• Support runs on email, across time zones. Write to the address above and you get an answer, usually within a day. There is no phone line, and a message at 9 p.m. in New York is read the next morning in Germany.

Refunds follow the policy on the refunds page, and that policy applies to you wherever you live.

Value added tax

No VAT is shown on your receipt. The business is a small business under section 19 of the German VAT Act (Kleinunternehmerregelung) and therefore does not charge it.

Dispute resolution

We are not obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board, and we do not do so. If something is wrong with your order, write to [email protected] first. In practice that settles it faster than any third party.

The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform, which German sites used to be required to link here, was shut down in July 2025.
